AT&T's LG A340 would be a decent voice "dumb" phone except that AT&T and LG have loaded it FULL of junkware that CANNOT be deleted. NOT ONE of the numerous preloaded junk apps has a "Delete" option. Here are the apps that I cannot delete:

I had the same problem… I was finally able to delete the att contacts from just the sim card.
Then turned off auto sync and set the contact list to read from the sim card… No more junk
In the contacts list… I just got the phone so I will post again if I find a better solution.

Shorten the review and try it again. Thanks for your review. I probably will not buy one.

hey ilikewireless - you are correct. City ID has designed it's subscribe / decline screen so YOU CANNOT TELL WHETHER THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON OR THE DELETE BUTTON IS SELECTED.
AT&T is just d****ed sleazy to put this junk on our phones and deliberately prevent us from removing it. Really low, smarmy behavior on the part of a major corporation. Like walking into one of those tourist rip-off electronics stores in Midtown Manhattan.

- Well, has anyone had any good luck getting AT&T or LG to delete the incredible amount of data-charging junk on this phone?
probably not, best bet next time is to buy a non-subsidized version from the manufaturer and not from a carrier

If you name your contact starting with a space, that will put the contact at the top of the list ahead of AT&T's listings.
