xpress mail: sms or email notifications

I just installed the professional version of xpress mail to my desktop and I have emails pushing to my phone this way.  However, I am not receiving an alert sound or message when a new email arrives.  Is there a way to fix this?  I noticed that there is an option to use sms for email notifications.  This would be a viable option if I knew that these sms were not charged against my account.  Do I have to pay for these SMS even though they are sent to my phone via the xpress mail system?

Re: xpress mail: sms or email notifications

If you go under settings, then sounds. You can set an alert or sound for imcomming emails. I'm not sure on AT&T pricing but im pretty sure you get charged for the SMS messages if you dont have an SMS plan.

Also what email provider are you using with xpressmail?

Re: xpress mail: sms or email notifications

I have verified that my phone is set to alert me when I receive new emails.  However, I am not receiving those alerts. I'm attempting to use xpress mail with my .mac email account.

Have you tried re-installing the client first?

Yes, I have reinstalled it, performed a soft reset, hard reset etc... nothing works.
