why can't i keep my number?
Edited by 88usmc on Sep 20, 2010 at 11:40:58 AM

Lost my cell phone.  Went to get a new one but was told I can't keep my number.  I'm still on a contract and want to stay on the same plan on that contract.  So why can't I keep my number?  I would be able to keep it if I moved to another carrier.

Did you try and get a new one by starting a new plan for the subsidized cost of the phone? If so that is why. Would suspect that if you pay full undiscounted price for the phone then you can just put the number on the new phone
