Unable to send or receive SMS
  1. Verify the message center number is programmed correctly.
  2. Power the device off and back on.
  3. Verify SMS blocking is turned off.
    • From the standby screen, press Menu.
    • Scroll to and select Messaging.
    • Scroll to and select Messaging Settings.
    • Select Text Messages.
    • Scroll to and select Block Number.
    • Scroll to desired number, press Options.
    • Scroll to and select Delete.
    • Select Selected (if desired, select All to delete all numbers at once).
  • Perform Send/Receive steps again.
  • If further assistance is needed, please contact Customer Care.

    Thanks but unfortunatly that didn't help,  I have the right service center number and nothing was blocked. It isn't a new phone or service but we have never tried to text on it till now?  I put the sim card in my other phone and it still wouldn't text, so its not the actual phone,  It must be the sim card or something with AT&Ts service on that number?

    You next action will be the last step.  Contact customer service or stop by an ATT store to have them check the messaging provision on your account.
