laptop shuts off unexpectantly when on EDGE network.
Is anyone else having this problem? I'm using a Novatel U730 with a dell latitude laptop. It happens only in certain areas, usually when I have a not so good signal. Always when I'm on an EDGE connection.  Especially when the card is cold. I'll boot up, as soon as it finds the network, BAM, off goes the laptop. Usually taking the SIM card out, inserting the card until it warms up helps, sometimes it doesn't. I've been plagued by this problem for the better part of a year. I purchased a new laptop a , month ago because I was convinced there was something wrong with my old one and I was headed for a disaster over this issue. NOPE, doesn't matter which laptop I stick the card in.
This has me stumped. Any Ideas?

If I had to guess, your card is drawing too much power causing the laptop to shut down. A new card or different card would probably solve the issue.
