There are some who would suggest turning off location services and such and 3G data but you do not want to cripple the phone. However, consider going into location services and look at some of the system services such as traffic, location based iAds and such. They do not add value in my opinion and chew through batteries. Look at your notifications. Lots of apps want to send them to you but do you really get any from an app or do you care? Ie. not every news app needs to deliver the same notfication to you if you have multiple ones installed. Choose a primary app in a category.
Consider Looking at your fetch interval if all your mail uses push. Does your calendar need to be checked for updates every 15 minutes? Probably not and it probably does not affect your iPhone use.

How long does your 4s battery usually last? b/c mine, normally 1 day. or less than a day.
I've turned off most of the location services and I get about 1 1/2 days moderate to heavy use.

Ps, uups ...another thing that weakens battery I find
Is weak service provider coverage if u have 2 bars or 1 battery runs a mile
But with 4 bars or 5 it's ok
TThere have also been reports by some users that if you use AT&T's Microcell the battery drain is also increased. I haven't experienced that myself, but I could be just lucky.
