gave up on at&t updates, debranded.

I debranded my at&t X10a using XDA. Downloaded the flash tool & the north American generic 1.6 ROM and flashed. Then used SE PCcompanion to upgrade to 2.1. I miss none of the at&t bloatware & any needed apps have free equals. Now have full market access and can use non-market apps. When SE updates to 2.3. I will be able to remain stock.

Re: gave up on at&t updates, debranded.

Had my x10 since last December and until mid Feb., lost my pacience and debranded mine to 2.1.1.  Got an update notification from PC Companion, and got multi-touch out of it.  SWEET!.  Also waiting for 2.3 to come to X10.  =D

If I debrand it, will I still be able to use att 3G network?

Absolutely yes. I used the find available networks options in settings- wireless settings- mobile networks, to find at&t/at&tdr. Then the phone did the rest. Since then I used the XDA flashtool to root, to get rid of more junk taking up space. Read up on flashing your Rom(debranding) on the XDA forum. {content removed} this is a link the flashtool guide
