best case/screen protector for iphone 4?

So i bought the ifrogz case along with a screen protector from ATT today.  The screen protectors were $20 and the case was $30

I love the case, however i tried putting on the screen protector tonight and failed horribly.  I could not get all of the air bubbles out of screen and when i put the case back on the edges bent on the screen protector.  So i threw that one out as it was useless after this.  The 2nd one i decided to trim the edges so that when the case was it wouldnt interfere with the screen protector.  The air bubbles on this thing are relentless, after 30 minutes of trying to apply i threw both of them out and am not angry i wasted $20 bucks on these pieces of junk.

Anyone else have a better screen protector experience?

Welcome to the iFrogz club. You will find several of us here tried using a iFrogz case with scren protectors and all of us have failed as well. I lost a Zagg Shield and iFrogz very own screen protectors trying to get a screen protector to work with that case. I ended up returning the case and getting a bumper from Apple and used Zagg Shields on the front and back. Another option would be to use the Zagg on the front (or any other screen protector you wish) and a Speck case. So far those are the only 2 that i have personally tested with screen protectors and found them to work. I ended up going with the bumper just because i didnt like the feel of the Speck when gripping it.

My husband and I let Best Buy install Zaggs on our phones tonight. It cost $8/ea extra, but I let him worry about it and not us. Smiley Very Happy

i work at bestbuy

the Zagg invisashield is worth it
they will install it for you
i have it on my iphone 4 now and all my other iphones

but if you go that route, BEWARE:
1) after installation DO NOT put in POCKET ( wait at LEAST 5 hours )
2) after installation DO NOT put the ifrogz case or any case for that matter on (wait a few days ( i know it sucks ) for everything to dry)

3) Use the phone as much as possible: the heat from ur face and the backlight helps the drying work alot quicker

But in all honesty, the screen protector is worth every penny
plus you will get a lifetime warranty through ZAGG ( so if anything does happen, they will send u a new screen for free)

I corrected your post above. I waited 4 days before trying to slide my case on and it immediatly started to peel the shield off. Others are complaining about the same thing. At this time I recommend a different case other then iFrogz when trying to use with a screen protector.

Wow the guy told us to only wait 24 hours to put the case on...  eek!

I also got an iFrogz until I could get something else, now I guess I won't bother with it. It is KILLING me not to play with my phone right now. We just had it done tonight.

I know Speck and Apples bumpers work fine with the screen protectors as well.

If you decide to go ahead and try to use a iFrogz case be very cautious its track record is not very good at the moment.

To clarify the Zagg warranty...

They do not replace the screen, they will replace the screen protector if it become scratched.

Only place online I know of to get Speck is either Ebay, Amazon or from Speck themselves.

I'm a new iphone/smartphone user and after doing some research it seems like the otterbox is the way to go. It however hasn't come out yet so I went to Best Buy and picked up a invisi shield and the rocketfish jell like slide on case that they had. It seems to work really well but here's my delima. It seems the otterbox now won't be out until september? I bought the simple rocketfish thinking it be something simple until the otterbox, but if the otterbox doesn't come out until september is there something a little more "protective" that people recommend besides this jell rocketfish thing I current I'm currently using?

I'm using the Speck Candy Shell w/no screen protector.  It's a good case, and I'll use it until the Otterbox Defender for the iPhone 4 is released.

are the spek cases silicone?  I had an incase silicone case for my iphone 3g and it was a pain to get in and out of my pocket.  I went with a hardshell one after that.

Crap, that is the case I have and I'm waiting for delivery for my Zagg InvisibleSHIELD.  I like the Luxe as it doesn't add a lot of bulk.  Any recommendation for a similar case that is "Zagg friendly"?

I think most of the cases _can_ be Zagg friendly if you use care to hold down the edges when you put the case one (maybe a credit card holding down the zagg edges) and of course you don't later remove the case.

Personally I think I will skip that hassle and use a rigid screen protector which I'm hoping will be easier to use with a case.   Since the Power Support ones aren't out just yet I may use an older iPhone Power Support that I will modify until the iPhone 4 ones come out.

Then the next problem I need to solve is a replacement horizontal holster.   I will get one of the thin cases, but those are still just a bit too much bulk to fit my current holster (I don't like my phone in my pant pocket most of the time).

They are a hybrid...hard shell and soft interior to protect your phone.  I have no problems getting the phone in and out of my pocket with the Candy Shell.  Here's the info on it.  http://www.speckproducts.com/products/candyshell/iphone-4/240

I got a bumper from Apple that works great with the zagg but if you want more protection I would go with a speck for now. I was at best buy earlier and I saw they had some of the iFrogz luxe lean cases and they look like they would work the case doesn't wrap around the front of the phone like the Luxe series does. The lean series has a look like the ones for the 3GS where it comes up the side to the screen but doesn't actually go over the screen.

I looked at the lean and the top and bottom are totally exposed. If you dropped your phone and it hit at one of those corner edges of the glass it would defeat the purpose of a case. I know when I've dropped older phones it was always the top and bottom that would be knicked up from falls. I chose the Luxe over the Lean, but now am skipping out on the Luxe too. IMHO the speck candyshell looks to be the best right now. Must be why you can't find them anywhere. Smiley Wink
