Video Recording Issue

I have an issue with my stock 2.3.4 Atrix.  When trying to record video, it will create the files, but only at a zero file size (0 bytes).  It seems like it is an issue with the video codec, but the only apps I have that would impact the codec are Skype and Player Pro and both firms say they do not change the codec.  Does anyone have any ideas?

After many different attempts, the only thing that resolved this was to wipe and factory reset the phone.  It is now recording video again.
