It would helpful if Cisco or AT&T would provide some user management tools for the 3G MicroCell. I find it very frustrating not be able to troubleshoot or inspect the 3G MicroCell logs when experiencing an issue with the device. The ability to see simple connectivity and communications information would go a long way.

Getting trace logs to dive in the many ways the uCell acts up sure would be helpful. Logs only show details the developers intend to trace so the best way to uncover firmware issues is to trace the source code. If the uCell firmware was more mature it would have those Log calls but then we would not have so many issues in the field. The uCell is intended to be a secured design to prevent eves dropping in ATT network. It is so secured even ATT techs don't have a clue.
In its current shape the uCell is a nice proof of concept for Cisco developers but the project never got finished. It is NOT rocket science to make things work!
At this point AT&T would rather shade customers than invest $$$ in reliable updates. As long as we are getting short-changed, ATT is on the right end of the stick: customers are under 2 years contracts - the $200 uCell can not be returned after 30 days - Perfect setup to max out short term profits.
