Spam is never fun Smiley Sad unfortunately they seem to be happening more and more  ... what I found works for me is repling back to the message sent with the word STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE or CANCEL ... if they continue then you would have to contact customer care 1-800-331-0500 from a landline and see if they can look into the spam

Re: Spam Text Messages

I too have been receiving spam and it's to the point of frustration.  I've replied, STOP, CANCEL but that doesn't seem to work.  I've gone to the websites that are sending these spam messages and contacted them to STOP - or "Opt Out" which hasn't worked either.  I've never given my phone number to any websites.  Every message is from a different email address... if I respond to the email address via my computer email... surprise surprise, the address is undeliverable.
Most of these spam message are in regards to "Replica Watches, Viagra, Cialis and garbage like that.

I had the MMS feature turned off for about 2 months, but would still get a text message asking me to download the spam message.  Since MMS was turned off, I couldn't download, but the point of turning it off was to eliminate the messages.  STILL got them though.  So I finally just turned the MMS back on.  At least then I can send and receive legit MMS messages.

I've contacted Customer Service at least 10+ times in regards to this problem and I get a different answer each time.  They claim to have added my number to a "no spam block list" which I think is bogus and doesn't really exist.  Each time they told me this, they say it would take 7-10 for it to go into effect.  Well, that was over 6 months ago and guess what?  STILL getting spam.

Basically I think the only way to get it to stop is to turn off texting/messaging feature altogether or to change your phone number...which for me is not an option.

I'm fed up myself.... and am seriously considering porting my phone number to another carrier once my roll over minutes run out.  Other than the spam that I am receiving on a daily basis I really like my ATT service, and would change carriers only in hopes of ending the spam.

If you find a solution, please please, let me know.

You can block messages from email addresses by going to
and set the option to block all text messages sent as email, or you can set filters to allow only certain domains to send texts to your phone.

You can block messages from email addresses by going to http://mymessages.wireless.att.com and set the option to block all text messages sent as email, or you can set filters to allow only certain domains to send texts to your phone.
You can also call and report it as per the info at this link HERE.....
