Questions on my Update

Hi All,

This is my first post.  I like most others purchased my Sony X10 in  September with the "promise" (used loosely) that we would be on Android 2.1 by now.  Well, I finally had enough and used Davinci last night (sorry, I am a newbie, please don't make fun of me for paying for what I could do for free).  It was easy.

But, I am trying to ROOT the phone now and having no luck.  I previously side loaded UniversalAndroot when I had 1.6 and had it rooted, but tried, UniversalAndroot, Z4root (versions, 1.2, 1.21 and 1.3) as well as X10root and had no luck with any.  The closed I came was with Z4Root versions 1.2 and 1.21, they just kept looping on the "attempting to root" icon.

So my question, does anyone know a different way to go around this to easily root an AT&T Branded (but now software unbranded) Sony x10 running 2.1?

Also, the only software that doesn't work now is my SiriusXM app, it loads but keeps looping like it is playing a song but nothing happens.

Any help with both of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and sorry for the long-winded message.

Shawn

Re: Questions on my Update

Shawn,

Your best bet is to go ahead and update to the latest version from SE. This includes the multi-touch update and improvements in Mediascape/Timescape. Follow the direction in the last post:

When you're done updating, go here and use SuperOneClick to root:

You could just try rooting with SuperOneClick or try again with Z4root (which worked for me following a DaVinci debranding).

Be careful. Most people are happy to help out on these Forums, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. Take caution before downloading software to or for your handset, as it could potentially damage your device or void your warranty.
