Question about data plan and billing on smartphones?
I have 4 phones on my account and all smartphones. We dont use data and have had these phones for a while now so we dont currently have data plans. We have been looking into upgrading our main cell phone on this account and in doing so realize that we would be required to add a data plan to a smartphone. Im wondering though what about the other 3 phones since they are smartphones, would that change the grandfathered status of them with a new contract even though we wouldnt be upgrading these 3 and force them to require a data plan if we upgraded the main line?

If you renewed your contract by upgrading the main line to a newer smartphone (that will require a data plan), no, the other three "grandfathered" smartphones would not be required to have a data plan on each line.
