Problems with brand new phone!

I just received my new Gopher, added my minutes after I had to search on here to find a way to get around the fact that dialing *611* doesn't work. I get a recording telling me that it is not allowed from my device. Nor is dialing 1-800-901-9678 or any other numbers I have tried to call. I cannot receive any numbers either. Can anyone explain this to me? How can I call customer service at *611* if it tells me I'm not allowed to? I have no landline to call from.  Does anyone have any advice?
