Problem with Beats

The Beats Audio in my settings page is on, and I cannot get to it to shut off. This feature is dimmy lit, unlike all the others that are brightly lit. I have tried to change while I have headphone plugged in and no difference My wife has the same phone, her's is off but also not changeable and also dimmly lit.

I have the HTC Vivid with ICS and noticed the same issue, I found this information helpful.

Note: Beats Audio will only work when headphones or an external speaker is connected. This is to ensure the best possible audio quality.

That's the opposite problem the OP is asking about.  He can't get Beats to turn OFF, which it should be able to do.
