Online account redirects to port 8443!?

AT&T,

 

Now using port 8443 for HTTPS for your online account access?

Who thought this was a good idea?

You want network admins to simply open a port on their networks because you feel this makes sense?

 

Now that I've said that, is there any legacy URL using the standard HTTPS port of 443 to login to our accounts?

 

The online account WAS the one part of AT&T that was helpful.

Calling into the phone system is simply painful and now we can't even access our accounts online.

Oh well... what can we do.

This sucks. whoever dumb person thought they could just change it like that to 8443. most corporates block port 8443. now i can't access my account. I am switching to some other cell phone company.

Not a smart move AT&T, as now no one in our corporate environment can access their online accounts. 8443 for https is not open in our environment either.

 

How about changing it back to what it was before?

Confirmed. I have the same issue. Let's hope they change it back to a standard SSL port soon.

 

BTW, I accessed the new site from home and it worked after I opened the port in my firewall. However, I don't like the new site. I have no idea why they would change it. The old site worked for me without any complaints.
