Just think if they had allowed early upgrades

Just think if they had allowed early upgrades

All the same ordering problems are cropping up as in past releases, and that's with probably many people who aren't eligible waiting until they are eligible.  Just think if they had allowed early upgrades.  More people would have probably preordered and the situation would have been even worse.

Makes me wonder if this was a deliberate choice to reduce the number of potential preorders to reduce the ordering and initial supply problems (which doesn't seem to have worked anyway).

Re: Just think if they had allowed early upgrades

Of course this is all anecdotal, but the people discussing going into or past AT&T stores suggest that the lines are much smaller this year than for past iPhone launches. I think this probably was a deliberate move by AT&T, even if it was only partially successful.
