Anyone have a recommedation about screen protector vs. no screen protector? I'm wondering if the scratch factor is something worth worrying about and also if a screen protector makes the screen less sensitive?

The screen protector will not make the screen less sensitive, the sensors for the screen do not rely on pressure - your finger just has to be close. (test it, get your figer as close as possible without pressing, it'll still work). Anyway, with my iPhone 4, the glass is pretty resistant to scratches - but the screen protector will definetly help. Overall: worth the investment, just get a good one like the ones Power Support makes.

I don't get it. Definitely help what? Helps the screen protector seller/manufacturer stay in business? If it's scratch resistant, why would you need screen protector?

If you drop the phone, and the screen takes a hit (even with a case, nothing over the screen still poses a risk) then it will take the hit. One time I dropped my phone out of the car, it landed face first on the road. The road in my neighborhood had that asphalt thats good for gripping, but its got little parts sticking up higher then the rest. Anyway, my power support actually got a hole in it. I took the cover off, nothing underneath.
I highly doubt that the screen would resist that scratch.

I will give the new glass some credit though, we dropped the new phone in WalMart - no case. It bounced off the cart handle, landed face first on the tile. Not a scratch, only a little mark on the metal band that hit the cart, but nothing noticable. But, I would still buy a case and a screen protector. My last power support lasted so long, I never removed it once after I got it. Lasted over a year.

Scratch resistant and scratch proof are 2 completely different terms. You are implying the word resistant as being the same as scratch proof which nothing is scratch proof.

I have one one mine, I'd suggest it, but it's up to you. It doesn't make it any less gooder

I agree, screen protectors are a good idea. I just bought a Zagg online and Bestbuy is giving them away.
Is Best Buy really giving them away? I love Zagg have one on my 3GS and its is like scratch proof!

If u get a protecter make sure u get a good brand. I got the 3 pack from att. they are casemate and are pretty bad. In my stint with the iphone the only one that i really thought was great was the power support one. I had it for my 3g. Its almost as if it isnt there in terms of feel and look. But the protection from it is great.
