IPhone

currently I am on my mothers plan, she pays about $28.65 for my line. I wish to get an iphone but she seems to think that as soon as I get it ... her payments will go from around $85 which it currently is to, like high hundreds, and as I have done a little researching I can only see that it would cost $30 dollars to get my same plan of 1500 texts and unlimited access to mail and stuff, and $10 dollars for my line so all in all my mom should only get an extra $12 added to our bill. My question is does this seem correct, because I have heard a bunch of people complain about extra charges but I can't see that, the way im seeing it is that I would have a flat $40 bill not including tax.

Re: IPhone

I think on a family plan you can share text plans, however, each iPhone requires it's own data plan, which isn't shared.  There is no more unlimited data, it's either $15 for 200 MB or $25 for 2GB.

Re: IPhone

You're going to add $10 per line, plus the cost of texting, plus the cost of the data plan. You're looking at a minimum of $30 for the data, $5 for texting(200 messages), and $10 for the extra line. That's a minimum for $45 more per month.

Re: IPhone

If your mom has/wants texting, family unlimited texting is $30 for both of you... that's the cheapest unlimited texting option

Your data plan adds either $15 or $25 - I'd get the $25 unless you really do plan on watching your data usage like a hawk.

Your line adds $10.

Or you may find it helpful to have an app that tracks your data use in real time and warns you when you exceed your allowance. Search for DataMan in AppStore.
