How to turn off internet in phone settings? (Solstice, Flight, Sunburst)

I have 3 people on my family plans with the Samsung Solstice (A887), Samsung Flight (A797), and Samsung Sunburst (A697).  However, it seems they accidently go on the internet and I get charges every month.  I called AT&T and they said they can turn it off there, but it would also turn off picture messaging, which is included in our text messaging plan anyway.  I don't want to lose that!  Is there a way to turn it off on a per-phone basis without losing picture messaging?  I was able to do this on my Samsung Blackjack 2 and continue picture messaging, but I can't figure it out for these phones!  Thanks in advance.

no you can't.  you can either turn off the data or turn on the data.  there is no inbetween.  since sending picture messages requires data usage then you would need it to be turned on.

you just need to tell them to stop turning on their web-browsers and downloading stuff.
