I just received a 1st gen iPad 3G from a friend and am super excited. I am having problems setting up the data on it though. I go through, put in all my info, hit next and then a popup shows saying "AT&T can't process your request at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience. Try again later" or something along those lines. I tried last night twice. I tried this morning earlier. I am not quite sure what to do.
I take my iPad to work and when I bring it there it is pretty much useless with no internet connection.
ATT is shipping iPads with post paid accounts. This is where you automatically receive a bill. For the on iPad control, you need a prepaid account. To change the account, ATT will need to cancel and issue a new sim card. It took me 4 hours, 6 phones to get this resolved. Few people knew what they were doing with iPad data plans.
