Just to call 611? That seems odd. Do you have a decent signal, even though I think 611 calls will go through without even any service at all?

I think it it is possible that 611 can't go through even with service. There about six months where I couldn't call another carrier's customer service shortcut phone number either and would get an error everytime. This only occurred in a particular area. If I tried it elsewhere it would work. I had to drive at least 20 miles to connect to a different group of towers.
Probably from mobile, maybe. Smiley Happy

Hmm, that's odd, Ann154. OP, you could try calling AT&T's Customer Service from a landline/different phone at 800-331-0500 if 611 will still not connect.
