go here and ask - better chance of a response

www.apple.com

slim chance that anyone has any idea and the simple fact that apple rarely preannounces anything I doubt you will get anything but speculation as an answer. The att iphone is already hspa+ workable

Yes. The next rev of the iPhone. Product cycles being what they are, the 4s was baked a year ago.

No one but Apple can say for sure but I fully expect the next iphone to be 4G LTE capable. What were they waiting for? Again, no one but Apple can say but historically with the iPhone, they have not been the first on any particular technology. The first iPhone was not 3G even though 3G existed. They didn't implement the faster data speeds (HSPA, HSPA+) first and they aren't implementing LTE first, either.

All signs are pointing to a lte based iPhone on the next release but until Apple officially announces something it is all educated speculation and some wishfull thinking. The lte update does look pretty good.

Re: 4g

They're waiting for an LTE chipset that delivers the combination of performance and battery life that they can sandwich into the iPhone form factor. The battery on the new iPad is significantly larger than that of the iPad 2 because of the LTE chipset and retina display.
