number sync for Business Account

THIS IS INFORMATION NOT A QUESTION
For those of you with an AT &T business account and want to take advantage of the gear that comes with upgrading to a new device like the S2 watch and want to activate the number sync feature; you have to jump through some hoops to get this to work properly and many of the staff do not know this is even possible. The glitch is in the MY AT&T account -- to wit, is not intended to be available for a business line. Before you start, make sure you're using Explorer or Chrome on your device.
1. select number sync from the watch or wearable, it will open a link on your phone or device to log into MY AT&T.
2. Select register even if you have an account.
3. Fill in the requested info being sure to use the IEMI number from your device.
4. Continue and log in. You may need to use the menu button located at the top of the screen to find the log in.
5.follow the number sink creation procedure.
ENJOY

This does not work. On the register page you can only put a wireless phone number in, and if I put any my numbers in it tells me I am a business account go to premier site.

Hello @Annie03,

Getting NumberSync to work with your Business account can be very beneficial. I will be happy to help get it working!

When registering the User ID for managing features like NumberSync, you will enter the last four digits of the Smartphone IMEI instead of the Billing ZIP code. We will want to ensure both the phone and the wearable or tablet have service currently and are both on the most current software versions available.

You can check out our Device Support page for detailed information on software updates. Select your device and then scroll down to Software Updates. Once these steps are complete, you can continue with the NumberSync setup. We have an article with excellent steps to help get the devices connected.

I hope this information helps!

Hi Brett! First, thank you so much for actually finding an answer to this question...I was in the AT&T store for 3 hours trying to get this to work. Unfortunately with the help of the manager and 2 other reps and calling tech support, we could not get it to work 😞

This could be a tremendous benefit if you guys could actually figure this out but it seems there is a block still in your system that is preventing this form working.

I had to return the watch and cancel the entire deal.

Please, tell your manager, tell you tech group and please make this a focus as if you guys can get this working you can get thousands of Business users to start using so much more data...but for now it still does NOT WORK

THIS ACTUALLY DOES WORK FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS. HERE'S WHAT YOU DO (I'VE COPIED TEXT FROM ABOVE WITH EDITS IN CAPS FOR YOUR REFERENCE)

1. select numbersync  from the watch or wearable (UNDER SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>NUMBERSYNC), it will open a link on your phone or device to log into MY AT&T

(THE CHROME BROWSER ON MY ANDROID PHONE WASN'T WORKING, SO I CHANGED DEFAULT BROWSER TO MY SAMSUNG S7 ACTIVE TO THE STOCK SAMSUNG 'INTERNET' BROWSER AND IT WORKED - FEEL FREE TO CHANGE BACK AFTER YOU COMPLETE THESE STEPS).
2. Select register even if you have an account (THIS IS THE PART I WAS GETTING HUNG UP ON. YOU HAVE TO CREATE A NEW MY AT&T ACCOUNT FOR THE USER OF THE WEARABLE\WATCH. WE HAVE A PREMIER BUSINESS ACCOUNT, BUT THAT TYPE OF ACCOUNT DOESN'T APPEAR TO WORK WITH NUMBERSYNC. FROM THE INITIAL WEBSITE YOUR WATCH HAS LAUNCHED ON YOUR PHONE, SELECT 'REGISTER' INSTEAD OF TRYING TO LOGIN WITH YOUR BIZ ACCOUNT. YOU HAVE TO THEN SETUP UP A NEW UNIQUE ACCOUNT FOR THE PHONE USER (EMPLOYEE, WHATEVER), USING THEIR NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, AND THE PHONE NUMBER AND IMEI NUMBER FOR HIS PHONE (NONE OF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE WATCH YET - THAT COMES LATER WITH A PIN#) HAVEN'T DONE THIS YET, BUT IF YOUR BUSINESS HAS 10 PHONE LINE AND 10 WATCHES, THEN YOU WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO SETUP A MY AT&T ACCOUNT AS I'VE DESCRIBED FOR EACH PHONE LINE.

3. Fill in the requested info being sure to use the IEMI number from your device.(SEE MY NOTES ABOVE IN STEP #3)
4. Continue and log in. You may need to use the menu button located at the top of the screen to find the log in.

THAT IS ALL I HAD TO DO TO MAKE THIS THING WORK.

GOOD LUCK!

Hi Jason, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I returned my Gear s3 Frontier and cancelled the $25 per month plan for the watch with AT&T...
I wish I would have tried your way...
I ended up getting a Verizon gear S2 classic and added it to my wife's Verizon account for only $5 per month...
Now, when or if Verizon ever comes out with the Gear S3 Classic LTE I will buy it.
But, if they don't then i will try your method again and buy another watch from AT&T or i may pick up a used Gear s2 3G w/ AT&T and possibly try your way
Just to be clear on #3 are you saying to input the watch imei or the phones imei ? Please be very specific and many, many thanks
Please advise if Numbersync is now working for you ?

Annie03,

Sorry for the delayed response here. Yes, when you setup your own personal account for use with NumberSync, you do so with the information from your actual phone. You won't use anything from your watch really ever during this process...except the unique NumberSync PIN code number thing that the watch will generate for you at time of intial syncing.

NumberSync is still working for me. It's great. Just took it out on the beach last week for several days in a row without my phone, and no issues for texting or phone calls.

JAAS666,

It will work if you follow my steps. Again, this process is for people who's phones are on business accounts  - whether you are the business account administrator or not doesn't matter. If you are personal wireless subscriber, then this won't work for you. You have to set it all up the way AT&T shows you in every single tutorial we've all ready. For business phone users like me, we are the odd balls, and the process I laid out above works.

You setup a new personal account based on your business phone's info (IMEI, Phone #, etc.) for use with NumberSync.

Good luck!
