Transferring files to my Gear S3

I am not able to transfer files from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Active to my Gear S3. I have all my music from the Google Play store stored to my Micro SD card. Do I have to have my music stored to my phones hard drive in order for it to work?

Hello @Joey_B_R,

Welcome to the Community Forums! I can help with transferring your files over. Let’s get this taken care of so you can make use of your Gear S3 to the fullest! Please follow these steps:

  1. To transfer media from your phone to Gear, from the connected device, select the Samsung Gear app. Please note, the phone must be paired with watch via Bluetooth in order to transfer media.
  2. Select Send content to Gear.
  3. Select Desired media
  4. Select the Desired checkboxes, then select Done.

Your desired media will then be transferred to the Gear. You can access these files through the Gallery. We also have a helpful Device Support page device which shares all the features and how to use them for your devices.

I hope this information helps! Have a fantastic rest of your week.

Yes I am using Google Play store music. I'm actually subscribed to the
single plan, but yet I cannot transfer music to my Gear S3.

thats what I thought....  And you wont beable to since samsung does not support google play music.  Thats the reason I have android wear with my s8+.  Play music stores the music to where the watch cant read it.

No what I am saying is you picked the wrong watch for Google music support. I have a LG sport and can download music just fine. My gear S2 would not.
