Return a Christmas gift for an exchange

Tried to return a new Apple watch to ATT to 4 different stores( after each telling me i need to go to another att store) to exchange for another size of the Apple Watch and I am told I cannot.  I called customer service and was told I need to return it to a corporate store.  The corporate store told me I can't return it because it was bought over 14 days ago, even though it was given on Christmas.  HORRIBLE customer service.

Hello @desiderata27,

We're happy to help provide some clarification regarding our return policy! Refunds and exchanges must be completed within 14 days of the purchase date. Returns must be made where you purchased the item. Please visit our Return Policy webpage for a complete list of details.

Thanks for your response but the AT&T stores in my area don't seem to realize that something ordered from them should be returned to them.  All 4 stores that we went to, including where we purchased the item, would not take it back.

For the record, I disagree with a return policy of 14 days for Christmas gifts.  Or, if this MUST be the case then the AT&T personnel should advise the customer of this at the time of purchase.  Many people do not wait until the last minute to purchase Christmas gifts.  And, since many of your new items are backlogged and must be ordered, the 14 days policy seems unrealistic.

We won't be purchasing from AT&T again after this fiasco.
