My Samsung Gear S2 will not number sync but overheats

My Samsung Gear S2 will not number sync but overheats

We changed our AT&T account from a business to a residential acct and once that happened my Samsung wearable Gear S2 no longer syncs with my main phone number.  I have called AT&T numerous times with promises of getting call backs from the advanced tech group but to no avail.

I spoke to someone yesterday, who was very patient but could not get my watch to work.  I have been without this feature since 12/28/16.

I have reset the watch to factory settings 3 times and changed the settings to always have syncing on.  The watch spins looking to sync but can not. Instead it just gets very hot and forces me to turn it off.

Does anyone else out there have a similar problem?  Is there a resolution to it?  I really miss this feature of the phone and is the primary reason why I got it.

Thanks

Re: My Samsung Gear S2 will not number sync but overheats

Hello @TheOldLady!

Thank you for reaching out to us on the AT&T Community Forum! I would be more than happy to assist with this NumberSync problem.

To begin, you will want to ensure the phone number you are trying to connect with NumberSync has its own myAT&T access ID. If this is not the case, you can create one here. Once done, you will want to ensure you have an LTE capable SIM card in your device. If this has been changed recently, you can get a replacement SIM card from your local AT&T store if needed.

If you have already completed these steps, please visit our handy NumberSync support page, which gives detailed instructions on how to get NumberSync set up properly!

I hope this information helps!

Re: My Samsung Gear S2 will not number sync but overheats

Hi, We took the unit to the AT&T store and no one is able to get the Numbersync to work after the acct change.  I suspect it is a software issue on AT&Ts side but they want us to send it back to Samsung for repair.  We will see if that helps.  Thanks

Re: My Samsung Gear S2 will not number sync but overheats

I have had similar issues. Except that when my phone is off or airplane mode basically disconnected from The network

The watch wont allow me to reconnect. It just says network no response. I call ATT and once they reset the watch’s number NOT your phone number

it automatically connects. It appears that the phone that is sync needs to remain on at all times.

It might be the sim that’s in the watch itself. No one knows.

My coworker has the the new S3 and he can put his phone on airplane mode and the watch stills works under number sync.

probably a samsung issue.

However, I do like the watch and will play with it for awhile.

For now call ATT have them reset your watch’s number and it should work. Watch has to be powered off.

good luck
