Kids smart watch phone plan

Does at&t have any plans on providing a smart phone watch option for kids in the foreseeable future?  There used to be the FiLIP 2 (no longer available).

Is there a product that is compatible with at&t that I could purchase seperatly for my 9 yr old child?

Verizon offers the LG gizmo gadget.

Hello @CamiMarie,

I apologize but AT&T does not offer any products designated for kids at this time.  If you interested in being able to track your children, may I recommend AT&T Family maps.

I think this is terrible. I feel like AT&T is taking a step back instead of advancing. Having an option for a kids device is an important concern for a lot of parents, and I think AT&T has an obligation to provide at least 1 option for parents.

Verizon has the LG gizmo pal2.  I would prefer to stay with at&t, however there is enough need for my daughter to have a "children' device" we will be switching to Verizon.  My daughter is 8.  The only solution with at&t has been to give her a full capability cell phone.  I do not feel she is ready for that responsibility.  Nor do I want to expose her to the risks that brings.  At&t has chosen to not provide for the young family demographic and I am extremely disappointed with that.

It's called a flip phone.  Most have parental controls and the phone has a active GPS chip.  If you read the reviews of the Gizmo you will see it's not really that good of a device.  Battery life is a problem with a device like a watch if cellular is on all the time.

I love my kids' Gizmos. We use three of them in our home.

I really wish AT&T offered something like the Gizmo.  I wanted to get my son a watch he could wear to camp this summer, without having to worry about a phone falling out of his pocket while he's doing activities, or getting stolen, etc.  Something simple that works on LTE with calling and maybe texting capability.  I was shocked to find out this doesn't exist!!

It does not exist because of battery life constraints.  The LG Gizmo is a nice piece of tech but the battery life could be better.  In fringe areas it will die in less than 4 hours because its using all the battery trying to get a signal.

Batteries charge quickly. No problem with them lasting the entire day with normal use. Usually go 2-3 days without charging. They charge fully in less than 20 min.

@superdad777 Like I said in fringe areas the watch has a problem I test them.

Nothing works well in "fringe areas". How hard is it to accept that AT&T lacks here. Instead of some "fringe testers", AT&T should let customer decide whether it works for them.

I only need a device for a few hours at a time for my child.  We have used walkie talkies in the past with my child, and he's lost them.  I don't want him to put a phone down and lose it. I want a device ON him!

We switched recently and I’m extremely upset about this because when we switched we were told that you do offer a smartwatch for kids!! Had your employees been honest from the beginning we would have never switched over ! This is extremely upsetting since I’m we told them it was one of our main concerns and they assured us they did offer that plan !
