Can not activate Used gear s2.

Recently purchased a used samsung gear s2 watch.  I called AT&T customer service to get the watch sim reset so I could add it to my account and was told they can't do that.  They told me to have the previous owner reactivate the sim then they could add it to my account  or supply them with the original proof of purchase to get the sim reset.  I have all of the watch information and the previous number the sim is linked to. This watch is useless if I can not add it to account and use number sync. I can not reach the previous owner.

We hate to hear that you are having trouble connecting your wearable to your wireless service. Allow us to offer assistance!


Please know that the sim card within the wearable cannot be removed nor reset into a new SIM with AT&T or a different carrier.

 The telephone number on the SIM is removed after 72 hours, which allows you to activate a new phone number on the device.


You can also use our AT&T Device Troubleshoot/ Gear S2 to help make sure your wearable is fully operational.
