It depends on where you live. If your local CBS station is a CBS Owned and Operated (O&O) station, then AT&T has the rights to offer On Demand CBS videos. If your local CBS station is an affiliate, then they don't have those rights and you cannot view On Demand CBS video.
You can, however, use your computer to visit CBS.COM, or maybe HULU.COM

I'm not sure about fundamental, but if you were a Time Warner Cable subscriber in a CBS O&O market, you would likely be very unhappy about now.

This is very inconvenient! The DVR cutoff a recording and I couldn't find it on On Demand. Not very good service.
