When South Asian Channels in HD
I switched my service from Dish to AT&T Uverse and regret not getting some of the South Asian channels in HD. Dish transmits Zee and Sony channels in HD while Uverse is pathetic old format.

It's not necessarily AT&T's fault.
Dish may have exclusive agreements to provide those channels for a period of time, which would lock out any competitors from having access to them.
International channels being available in HD in a worldwide marketplace is just beginning. Besides, I'd be willing to bet that a vast majority of the programs shown on the channels you specified are still only available in 576i, whether 16:9 letterbox or 4:3, just like when the English channels first got into HD.
Give it time. AT&T seems to be aggressive when it comes to adding channels across all categories.

According the latest AVS National HD Channel Lineup (April 24, 2014), only Dish Network carries Zee TV and Sony Entertainment TV in high definition. All of the other providers carry those channels in standard defintion. vid30jk could very well be correct in stating that the HD versions are exclusive to Dish Network.

Those three channels do not appear to be in HD according to the latest Official AVS National HD Channel Lineups.
