NBC, WTHR, CBS - September Contract Negotiation

Why was NBC dropped from the channel lineup? This is a major network that I watch frequently. I am not happy about this change and don't remember receiving any notification of this change.

Re: Why did At

AT&T and CW seriously need to resolve this issue. I'm seriously about to switch cable companies, as are others I know. I want to watch the CW shows on my TV at my own time. Not my phone or computer and sitting at the exact moment of broadcast is just impossible. And it's a hassle with my system to hook it up so... and when I do, the CW stream is so far inferior to the likes of YouTube it's just frustrating with all the lockups. Another week is all I'm gonna give them. Then I'm shopping for a new service.

Re: Why did At&T Uverse drop the CW channel?

Well... the CW told me that it was U-verse and had nothing to do with money. Yeah right! I'm so close to dumping AT&T on all platforms because of this. Whoever's fault it is, I don't care. It's impacting all of us. And what the heck AT&T... put SOMETHING up on the channel as far as an update!!! Please! It insulting to the viewers.

I agree completely. We have 4 shows we watch on CW. This is ridiculous

Re: Why did At&T Uverse drop the CW channel?

Today is the 2 month mark of the dispute between Capital Broadcasting and AT&T U-verse.  Neither side is willing to move, so at this point, I am assuming the channels are gone forever.  I have purchased a Plex Pass and will be getting a HD tuner for the first steps in "cutting the cord".  AT&T continues to demonstrate that they are dropping support for U-verse.  But they are mistaken if they think that means I'm going to DirectTV.  A shame, as the U-verse tv service was great.  I hope AT&T reconsiders abandoning it before Google Fiber (who carries more 1080p content anyway) gets here.

Re: Why did At

The only problem with cutting the cord is the majority of ISP's have a data cap limit... if I were to cut the cord and go with something like Roku, HULU Live, or PlayStation Vue, I would go over the data cap by the middle of the month... the ISP's all seem to have gotten together and jacked up their data prices since so many people have started going with streaming services to get rid of cable/satellite tv services... and you are right about DirectTV... I had DTV and absolutely HATED it... the service was terrible and the customer service was even worse! Good luck in finding something that works for you...

Re: Why did At

My daughter watches Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash on CW... if we lose that channel here in the OKC market, I will have to get a digital antenna for her tv...

@Gryffindor1971

With the ATT Uverse internet providing 1T of data,  if expecting to exceed that can order unlimited for extra $30 per month.

The extra $1 a day provides a cost less than tv bundle by about $30 compared to new customer pricing with tv bundle.

No extra fees if exceed 1T, but truthfully a single device streaming HD content for 22 hours a day is about 1T of data.  The more users,  more devices will reduce that time frame but still roughly 660 hours of HD content in a month is a lot.

Downloading game files will also consume more bandwidth than normally used by a user in average activity.

Recently reviewed a user,  a teacher who used less than 25G a month....  Some months as little as 10G on the 1T data.

Not everyone can get local stations when not offered!

Because negotiations have stalled with fox 54 in Columbus and it's the only way I can receive fox I may have to leave directtv! I live in an area where we cannot get any channels without a dish.

Re: Not everyone can get local stations when not offered!

Well, that's certainly one option.  But realize that all service providers go through these contract negotiations with local station owners, and all of them can have their signals pulled by those owners if they don't get the $$$ they're asking for.  So it's not DirecTV that pulled the signal.  Be sure to lean on the station's owners to settle quickly.  And ask them why we're paying anything for signals that they broadcast over our public airwaves for FREE.

Re: Not everyone can get local stations when not offered!

All TV providers go through negotiations as they do not own the channels. Hate for you to switch and then in a few months the new provider goes through the same thing when it is their turn.

Normally I would suggest using an over-the-air (OTA) antenna to pull whatever locals are in range, even those that your TV provider may never be able to provide you. But you mention you cannot get locals without a dish so I assume you have terrain that blocks the free broadcast. So I would say be patient and even keep an eye on http://directvpromise.com/keeping-you-connected-to-your-local-stations/ if there are any updates.

Not authorized to watch FoxNews on demand on Foxnews site.

When I log into foxnews on demand I receive not authorized to watch message. Found this on their website "

AT&T and DirecTV customers are currently unable to login to watch Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network live, and on-demand.

We are aware of the issue and are waiting on a fix from AT&T and DirecTV.

Please contact their customer support team to let them know you’d like access returned ASAP.

Thank you for your patience. We hope the service is restored soon."

What gives?

Re: Why did At

OMG! We’re having to watch the CW on my son’s Xbox. The frustrating, and albeit ironic thing, is that We have to watch endless commercials for AT&T! How absolutely stupid is AT&T for advertising on a channel that they can’t even broadcast??? It just makes us more upset with AT&T. The countdown has begun to cancellation of their service. 10... 9... 8...

Re: Why did At

There is hope. After 10 weeks or so, our local feud between AT&T and Capital Broadcasting Corp. was finally resolved, and we got NBC and FOX back.

So hang in there…at least until a decent alternative arrives, which in my area is NOT Spectrum.
