Lost connection to WAP

I have one wired receiver and one wireless receiver. Last night, I received an error on the tv connected to the wireless receiver that the connection was lost to the WAP. I have tried rebooting, restarting, and following the on screen ionstructions. Nothing seems to fix the issue. It is a Cisco WAP.

The wired receiver, WAP, and modem are upstairs and the wireless receiver is downstairs. It has worked just fine until last night.

What is the next step to solving the issue? Is there a software update or firmware update/upgrade I'm supposed to have to fix this?

I unplugged the receiver and left it unplugged while i was at work all day. I came home, plugged it in, and restarted it by holding the power button down for 10 seconds. It fixed the issue and now the TV works again!

Thanks

Contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature.

Send them a private message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse WAP wireless TV service problems. They are available M-F 8am-11pm Eastern time (also around on weekends), response may take up to 2 business days.

This is not the regular CS/TS phone people, but the social media Community Specialists that know the people to contact to get things done. I personally know as they've helped me on a DVR swap.

Include your account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on. Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉

I have a similiar issue. I have one wired receiver and 2 wireless. Last night, the reception on the 2 wireless receivers went out. I followed all the troubleshooting guides I could find, but still no success. I even set up one of the wireless receivers inches away from the WAP, but I still did not get a connection. I do notice that the power light on the WAP turns red after an unsuccessful attempt at pairing. I tried the "Fix It Now" function through att.com, but the solution they came up with is to replace a wireless receiver. I think they may have gotten it wrong. It seems like the issue would be with the WAP itself and not the receivers. But hey, I'm no ATT Technician.

We have the same issue. I have one wired receiver and 2 wireless. After a power loss we can't get either Wireless receiver connected to the WAP. I have gone through the process of pressing the WAP for 10 seconds and then pressing the OK button on both of the non working receivers. The green light blinks but never connects.

I have researched this issue and have only seen the power cycle solution and something about a Cisco vs Motorola Gateway upgrade. I need this fixed. Son hasn't had TV in his room since August 2016 and now our bedroom TV stopped working. Annoyed. We ordered another DVR for son's room but haven't tried switching them yet.
