While it is great that Directv will be carrying some Olympic coverage in 4K, the Ultimate package requirement makes it a no go for me. Directv should be distributing the Olympics 4K content to the widest audience possible, not restrict it to only those with the Ultimate package.
I dropped my package earlier to Extra, then Choice, and now to Select. There is just not enough live 4K content to justify the price, especially considering that local MLB and NBA team games are blacked out.
I will be canceling my service next month when my current contract is up. Likely to switch to YouTube TV. Their $35 package includes the Golf Channel that requires a $50 package to be included with Directv Now. Directv is becoming less and less price competitive.

I find it interesting that they are trying to bring viewers to 4k, while now saying that it requires the Ultimate package ...
I did require that package (or higher) in the beginning, but that was changed awhile back so everyone with a 4k set up could view ...
Are they really gonna change this again and mess with the same viewers that got thier 4k set ups recently being able to watch and not say , wait, you can't watch the Olympics in 4k without upgrading your package ?

Can we get some clarity here on whether the Ultimate package is necessary? I can view 106 normally with my package.

I just finished a call with a Directv Customer Support representative. He said that this post is in error. There is no Ultimate package requirement to view the Olympics in 4K. He said this issue was being escalated to correct the misinformation.

I can't seem to find this channel on the schedule in the DirecTV app. How do I schedule recordings? Thanks!

If your looking for channel 104-106 and can't find it, I would make sure that you are logged into the Directv website (if setting up online) and make sure that you have 4k set up on your account.
I don't see it either, but I don't have 4k at the moment.

It doesn’t matter if it’s 4K or not ... ITS A 24HR DELAY! Who wants to watch the games a day after they happen? This is a complete waste. Thanks for nothing.

You only get the 104, 105, 106 channels if you have 4K added to you package and have an HR54 Genie or HS17 Genie2.

Possibly, but the other 3 sports channels are usually Live. Pebble Beach is live right now as well as the baseball games etc when they run. Putting it on a 24hr delay is a little bit gimmicky.

It looked great last night for ice skating, but I think we have to wait until tonight for the opening ceremonies. Is it 8 PM tonight? I'm trying to wait so we can see it in 4K HDR on the OLED.

What is with the overly loud volume for the NBC announcers? I want to hear the sounds of the Olympics in Atmos audio, not announcer chatter.
I lowered my center channel volume as much as my AVR would let me and still had to put a rug over the center channel.
