Why am I unable to view my DVR Playlist on my Computer? I can on my mobile devices but not on my PC. I would like to use my large-screen laptop when I am in the backyard. Direct TV customer support keeps saying this is not possible for copyright reasons, but this does not make sense since we don't run into this problem with the mobile devices apps. Please help!

To view your DVR playlist you can view via DIRECTV app on a mobile device (mobile phone or tablet) only.

i personally dont use this method. it required the dvr to be connected to the internet, which is not available where i live.
from what i have read on the forums, there are issues with the app.
search for a diff emulator and see if it works better

Some are using Nox from bignox.com. I assume that DTV believes that the market is to small for the app on computers/laptops so they didn't include support for it or it could be a copy protection issue.

This functionality was there for a long time-i used to be able to watch my DVR stuff from mobile devices AND my laptop. This feature was removed, but I did not receive any decrease in my bill. Actually it went up. So I'm paying more for less. I have complained several times. The stuff about it being copyright must be false, since they used to have an app for computers.

On a computer you can potentially run capture software and distribute copyrighted programing. So that's why.

I tried both Nox and BlueStack and it is the DirecTV app in the play store that says "Your device isn't compatible with this version" and it does not let me install it on these emulators. It is as though the DTV app will not run on these emulators. Can someone tell me what Android Emulator is working for them? Thanks

Just an update KoPlayer was able to work. I can watch my recorded DVR programs using this player with no problems. Bluestack appeared to work, but it kept going into a logging in loop every time I selected a program. But KoPlayer is working just fine.

The only app available in a play/apple store is for DirecTv Now, there is no app for computers/laptops for DirecTV sat.

Direct TV Now is for streaming your Live TV programs. This thread is about watching your DVR recorded programs on your PC. There is another thread about how to watch Direct TV programs from your Browsers. Maybe post to that thread.

You can't watch DirecTV on a computer now. The Cisco player is defective. AT&T and Cisco are fighting over it. Nothing gets done and technical support always seemed shocked when I report. You get to the watch button, and it goes nowhere.
If they let me watch on my computer than I don't have to pay $7 a month for a mini genie. I can record my screen with a push of a record button, and I think that's the second issue. But if it's on my DVR, why bother? You have to record in real time. I have done that to record short videos on line, but I don't benefit from it. Movies that are out of print are fair game to me. Thank you, TCM.
