Not much information to go on. Need more details ....
That TV message suggests that you're not set to the correct Video INPUT for your DirecTV box. Or the DirecTV box is not ON. Or you have a video cable issue. Check those things and post back with more info.

How is the DVR/Receiver connected to your TV?
When did the problem start?
What troubleshooting have you tried so far?
