Why is the OANN (One America News Network) channel (347) no longer working?!
I am getting the "721 - channel not purchased"
on all 3 receivers (HR24 - D12 - D11)
I have tried both resending authorizations and the red reset button.
I am not having problems with any other channels (I am still getting OANN's "sister" channel A Wealth of Entertainment (AWE)
(I am having the same problem with Pandora that many other users have posted about - it tell me that I am not connected
to the internet when I am and all other features that require internet connection are working.)

We apologize for the inconvenience. Effective April 17th 2017, the One America Network Channel is no longer available on packages below the Select package. The One America Network Channel is available on the Select package or above.
For Pandora, a red button reset should help. Press the red reset button located inside the access card door on the front panel (or on the side of the receiver) and wait for the receiver to reboot. Once reset, verify internet connection again; press the “dash” key to confirm it shows connected.

That's a ridiculous reply in so many ways. For starters, "Select" is the lowest package (aside from the streaming-only plan). I personally subscribe to the XTRA package (above the "Select" package), and the channel is no longer working, with the on-screen message saying I am not subscribed to the channel....though according to your reply, I am subscribed to the channel. Also, you're flat out lying about the Pandora issue. It's been down for weeks (if not longer), and resetting a receiver and re-connecting it to the internet does not solve the problem. The problem is clearly on your end. Fix it! And unlock One America News Network! And stop lying!

I lost OAN also. I have Choice Extra Classic. I thought this was above SELECT but Directv is stating that grandfathered packages are the lowest priority packages and will not return OAN unless I change to a new package. UNFAIR!

We apologize for the any confusion. Many times a reset of the receiver will help with these issues. Press the red reset button located inside the access card door on the front panel (or on the side of the receiver) and wait for the receiver to reboot. If this does not help, please chat with us so we can further troubleshoot with you.

According to your package price chart I am paying between $39.00 and $24.00 more monthly than your lowest package (depending on whether I look at it anonymously or if I am logged in to my account...why such a higher price structure if I am already a customer???)
Shouldn't that earn me the OAN channel?!
As for Pandora telling me I am not connected to the internet - I have been resending authorizations and pressing the red reset button for the last 18 days and still have the same issue. It still says that I am not connected to the internet when I know I am especially since I can do everything else that requires internet connection.
My husband and I have been a customer of Directv for just shy of ten years, maybe it's time for a change.
We've have ATT cell service for twice that long, maybe it's time to change that too.
If customer loyalty means so little than I can go reap the benefits of being the new customer some where else.

Yes Choice Xtra Classic is a higher level than Select. However, it is a grandfathered package. New channels after the free national trial, might not be allowed by agreements to put them in grandfathered packages. So it will only be in the current packages, or any new packages that come out in the future, but not packages that were discontinued being offered years ago.
Since packages have changed several times since Choice Xtra Classic was discontinued, I would review current packages to see how they line up to what you watch. I would take a good look at 3 packages: Choice, Xtra, and Preferred Xtra. Preferred Xtra you have to call in, but it is comparable to Xtra by removing all sport channels (except ESPN and ESPN2) and adds in more non sports channels from the Ultimate package so similar to Choice Xtra Classic, but you are not paying for additional sports.
So I doubt OAN is in the expired Choice Xtra Classic, but only Directv can confirm one way or another on this.

Earlier this year I spoke to a directv service representative about an overcharge on my bill. I also asked him about dropping the regional sports fee. He said that I would have to change program packages to do that and he told me that they didn't have any program packages that came close to the channel line up I currently have with my grandfathered package. He said that I would be paying more money and receiving less channels.
As far as dtv not adding new channels to grandfathered packages,
I still have A Wealth of Entertainment, which started the same time that One America News started.

It doesn't matter when a channel started broadcasting, what matters is when DTV and the station signed a contract to carry them.

The only way to drop the Regional Sports Fee is to go to a package that does not include your Regional Sports Networks. There is one package that is about the equivalent to Choice Xtra Classic, for lower cost, without any sports channels except ESPN and ESPN2. That is the Preferred Xtra Package. Just call Directv and ask about it. I assume it is not listed on the website as it does not showcase sports, which is one of Directv's biggest selling points. I have had Preferred Xtra for about a year and have not hear about it being grandfathered so the agent you spoke with may have been new (or merged from AT&T) and not familiar with the difference of Choice Xtra Classic vs Xtra or the new Preferred Xtra.
I am not saying if the new channels are allowed in expired packages or not. Just that it was a possibility. National free trial may have been for different lengths on each channel or one was allowed in expired packages but not the other. Just several possibilities. I could even be that neither is supposed to stay in an expired package, but Wealth might be coming through in error. But whatever the correct status, you will need to call Directv to verify if you are supposed to have both channels, one or the other, or none. And if you are not getting the channels you are supposed to, they will have to fix it because you have done pretty much all that can be done on the user end to kick the authorizations through.
Even if you are supposed to get OAN and get it fixed, I would still consider Preferred Xtra as base cost is cheaper than Choice Xtra Classic and gets rid of RSN fee and other than sports has about the same channels. Just verify any channel differences before deciding of course.

We feel the same way! We have been loyal DirectTV and ATT customers for always. Have never had another provider since we ditched the antenna. Loyalty gets you nothing with these companies. New customers get the perks. We were so happy we were getting OAN and now it's no longer available. We too have an upgrade extra choice package. Not happy.
