Witness the super-fight that no one believed was possible when legendary undefeated world champion Floyd Mayweather battles UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the most anticipated sporting event of the year. Sparks will fly as the two biggest names in their sport take center stage for a once in a lifetime sports spectacle. Don’t miss this epic match for the ages - Saturday, August 26 9PM ET, live on Pay-Per-View.

If you order online via directv.com, the app, text , or agent, you can view content on all active receivers and stream via DIRECTV.com and mobile devices. If you order via the receiver, you can only view content on the receiver where order was placed.

Pre-Order the Fight

You can order the fight at any time, and we highly suggest pre-ordering to avoid dealing with any last minute hassles.

You can order the fight in multiple ways including:

  1. Online
  2. On your Smartphone
  3. Text
  4. Over the Phone ($5 Charge)
  5. On your TV

For step-by-step instructions, go here.

Once the event is ordered, tune to channel 123 for the HD version and 124 for the SD version.

If you place your order on your TV, only that receiver will be able to watch the fight. If you do it any other way, all your receivers will be able to view the fight.

After you place your order, check to make sure it is in your Order History to make sure you are ready to go when the fight starts.

Problems viewing/ordering the Fight

You may need to call in prior to the fight to place a deposit due to credit restrictions.

If you see error codes, a blank screen, or 'Not purchased' on your TV, refresh your receiver to resolve the issue. If still having problems, check out this PPV troubleshooting article.

If you start seeing pixalation or freezing, make sure your connections are secure. If still having problems, this troubleshooting article can help resolve the issues.

The fight will be available to purchase in 4k, also. To find out more about 4k, check out our DIRECTV 4k article.

So the fight was definitely not broadcast in 4K, only HD. Why did directv mislead customers to thinking otherwise?

I don't know but I purchased it specifically because it was supposed to be 4k. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have bought it.  I want a refund.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Mayweather vs McGregor DIRECTV

Janthony good luck getting that refund. I am disappointed that information about the biggest fight of all time was so miscommunicated. I should have known better than you believe AT&T support. Either a channel is in 4K or it isn't. It won't automatically switch to 4K. I am guessing there was no 4K broadcast by anyone. That's fine but I wish AT&T would just have said that up front or said we honestly don't know if there will be or not.

Guys it's not that big if a deal. I would understand a movie in 4K, but a fight. Wasn't even a fight, it was joke and you still got to see it HD. Anyways your 4k tv should of able to upscale it.

Hi @jwadkins@denisweaver@janthony6

Our apologies for the miscommunication. It was our mistake to post that the fight would be broadcasted in 4K. Given this was a high-profile fight, we understand how disappointing  it was not to see the option as posted in the article. It some instances, PPV is broadcasted is in 4K and we thought it would be the same for this fight. We know this apology is late, but, we wanted to address this and reach out to you all.

I was hoping to see it in 4K myself...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Mayweather vs McGregor DIRECTV

An apology isn't good enough.  You used misleading information to create a sale.  I want a refund.  Simple as that.  If I buy something from you and it is not as advertised, there is no sale.  I sent a PM about this with my account number and have saved this chat.  Since I have 3 4k receivers and a Genie 2, I clearly have 4k.  I purchased this to watch it in 4k.  Quality was poor 1080i.  Streaming the fight looks better than 1080i since streams are in 1080p.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Mayweather vs McGregor DIRECTV

Hi, I'm DIRECTV/ATT and I charged you $100 by misleading you into buying something that was not what was promised.  I apologize.

????? Huh ?????  Apologize to my bill.

Or how about this - Hey ATT/DIRECTV - I'm selling Verizon and TMobile.  I will sell them to you for only $1 Million dollars.  Send me a check and after I deposit it I will apologize for misleading you but keep your money.  Sound fair?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Mayweather vs McGregor DIRECTV

I appreciate you guys owning up to it. Apparently no one offered it in 4K anywhere in the world. (not even UFC streaming) I don't expect a refund but I do hope going forward your team will post facts instead of incorrect information.

Hi there @janthony6!

I am pleased to hear you are taking advantage of our 4K receivers. This technology is definitely an upgrade for your viewing pleasure, so I can understand why you are concerned with this past event and its display on your TV.

As we mentioned, the original poster on our forums site did list incorrect details regarding how the fight was to be broadcast. The fight was only shown in SD/HD with a non-refundable option as it was a Pay Per View feature. Upon further research, I was unable to find any network displaying the fight in 4K as well. Remember, if you have a 4K TV the feature should have been upscaled to display the fight better as well.

We will certainly take this feedback into consideration for future events streamed on Pay Per View. Thank you for taking the time to reach out!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Mayweather vs McGregor DIRECTV

The point is, I wouldn't have bought it if it were not for you advertising that it was in 4k.  I don't care if no other company offered it in 4k.  I care that I paid for something and didn't receive it.  I paid for the fight in 4k and it wasn't.  I want a refund. American Express will agree with me.

@Redwizer101,

Then call DirecTV and ask them to remove the charge .... 1 800 531 5000

First, though, check your DVR's "History" menu to see if someone actually ordered it.
