Channels removed from DIRECTV lineup (January 2017)

I am done with Directv!!! I pay alot of money to have your service and you pull this crap!! I am tired of you putting the consumer in the middle of your fight with the local stations without any compensation for the days that we are without local channels.  Lucky that the Patriots are playing on another channel!!!  My New Years resolution is to DUMP Directv.

Have fun provider hopping when this problem hit your new provider.

Is there any update on when the Nexstar channels will return to Directv? Honestly 11 days? Where are the adults in the room?

DirecTV and Nexstar need to come to an agreement before Nexstar will give the feed back. DirecTV and us customers cannot force Nexstar to do so earlier. This is not the longest negotiation by far, there have been worse with other channel owners.

The adults are at the negotiation table and being patient.

I want Fox22 back.. i want all the channels back that I pay for

As long as you are getting one local channel, then you are getting what you pay for. There is no guarantee of any specific local channel provided. That is per the terms of service of all TV providers, as channels/programming are subject to change.

You will get your local back when the affiliate owner returns it to DirecTV. https://tvpromise.att.com/

In the meantime you could try using a normal antenna on your TV to get the free broadcast.

Raise rate and reduce channels ?

How do you have the courage to increase my monthly bill by $50 and then drop ABC in my local area ?

Ive called every day for a week looking to speak with someone. There must be a record number of people complaining about your lackluster service and horrible customer support. I’ve been promised a call back and am sad to admit no such call has been made to me. All I am asking is for something in return for this lack of support. Take care of your loyal customers. We all know it’s far more expensive to acquire new rather than keep yiur baseball happy.

If I treated my customers like this I would be out if Business. I’m shorting all of my att stock a company I believed in at one time. Typically these issues become major problems and the company will not be successful.

Loss of nbc thtough kxan

It's been almost 2 weeks since we lost nbc through kxan and DirecTV has s fix but refuses to inform their customers. I found out through word of mouth. I called dtv today and they are sending the fix. I ask why they dont inform their customers about the fix they said through 2 supervisors that its s local thing and customers need to find out about the fix by word of mouth. The lady supervisor I spoke to latacha [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.]. I can't  understand why directv refuses to inform their customer about a fix to get nbc. They are fast to take ur money but refuse to inform their customers about a simple fix available. Thry even refused to give info other than mailing address for main office/CEO of the company. This is why people r leaving dtv for other options.

i really wish people would read before they post and make demands and threats and ultimatums, you may as well go outside and yell it down the street because you have just as much chance of at&t/directv hearing you as you do them seeing your post on here which is 0.0% chance

Since a difference of $50 would be discounts completing, that has nothing to do with your ABC situation. Discounts would finish as scheduled regardless.

If your local affiliate of ABC is owned by Nexstar, then it is negotiations. The channel will be given back by Nexstar upon a new agreement between the two being reached. https://tvpromise.att.com/

The local affiliate of NBC (KXAN) is owned by Nexstar. They are negotiating with DirecTV for the next carriage deal. Until a new agreement is reached, Nexstar will not return the feed to DirecTV. So there is nothing to fix as it is not a technical issue.

As a backup, viewers can plug a antenna into their TV to get the free broadcast as normal.

What I suspect you might be referring to, is DirecTV's Local Channel Connector (LCC). This allows you to connect a antenna to the 2nd/3rd generation Genie (HR44/HR54) to get the free locals through your DirecTV box, so don't have to change TV inputs and can still record. Comes with a indoor antenna included. The LCC is technically in testing markets. DirecTV has in some cases provided one to those in a negotiation area recently, which has further lowered the stock of them available. So for those reasons it is not advertised as it has not been nationally launched yet. Once out of testing and stock built back up to do the full launch, this accessory should be a big hit to all those local affiliate owners as they will not be able to use as many customers as leverage during negotiations.

Re: Nexstar mess

This question makes sense to me....instead of ANY local affiliate (which I'd still miss, but can find other ways to catch), I would love to be able to receive the NETWORK feed during the dispute if no other option can be worked out.  I AM a bit surprised that this blackout happened with zero notice that it might.....over the years, I've grown accustomed to seeing notices that it MIGHT happen.  In this instance, I woke up on a holiday morning to discover that my favorite network was simply not available to me.  Really not good business - from either standpoint.  I don't feel like I need to be in the middle of the dispute between the two entities, but I do feel as though each is asking the customer to take a side.  Hope there is a reasonable resolution soon.

DirecTV would LOVE to provide a "network feed" during these disputes. But FCC regulations prevent that. It's against the law. A few years back Congress was discussing legislation to allow TV providers like Comcast and Dish Networks to do exactly that. But that legislation died against the power of the broadcast industry lobby.

How long will it be before NBC is back?

How long before I will get NBC back?  Can I get a refund or cancel my contract  if you are not going to get it back?
