I am done with Directv!!! I pay alot of money to have your service and you pull this crap!! I am tired of you putting the consumer in the middle of your fight with the local stations without any compensation for the days that we are without local channels. Lucky that the Patriots are playing on another channel!!! My New Years resolution is to DUMP Directv.

I have DirecTV. The CW is gone. It's channel 8, Wish TV where I live. What's going on?? I was told to come here for more info and alternative viewing options. Help! I'm missing a lot of my favorite shows.

Just because you are willing to pay more for the locals that are free over the airways, doesn't mean that most people do. Since DirecTV does not charge customers differently for locals based on where they live, like with the RSN fee, any cost increase from a local affiliate would affect all customers. And remember switching providers does not protect you from this situation happening again as all TV providers have in their terms a clause that channels/programming are subject to change. They must have this clause as they don't own the channels and so have no way to force them to continue providing the feed.
As for the loss of signal issue, that usually means either the dish needs a realignment to get optimal signal (or have the mounting checked as if it is loose that could cause the signal strength to fluctuate when the weather picks up), or that water is getting in where it shouldn't affecting the carriage of the signal from the dish down through the coax. In any of those events, a service call would be needed for maintenance on the setup.

The only alternative is an OTA antenna connected to the TV as your Wish 8 has removed their feed to DTV because DTV will not pay them what they are asking to return it.

The contract states that channels can be added or removed at any time.
AT&T will add it back as soon as they get permission from Nexstar. This will happen as soon as they cave to Nexstar's demands or Nexstar lowers their asking price.

Sorry there, "ACE", you present a weak and specious rebuttal. Nexstar continues to negotiate in good faith to establish a mutually agreeable contract with AT&T/DIRECTV and has offered AT&T/DIRECTV the same rates it offered to other large distribution partners with whom it completed successful negotiations with in 2019 to date. AT&T/DIRECTV has been routinely involved in disputes with content providers and, following its 2015 acquisition by AT&T, DIRECTV has dropped or threatened to black out network and local community programming from Viacom, SJL Broadcasting/Lilly Broadcasting, Deerfield Media, GoCom Media of Illinois, Howard Stirk Holdings, Mercury Broadcast Group, MPS Media, Nashville License Holdings, Roberts Media, Second Generation of Iowa and Waitt Broadcasting, among others. Meanwhile, over the past 20 months alone, Nexstar has successfully renewed more than 390 distribution agreements with cable providers for the carriage of Nexstar’s stations.
Case closed, you guys are the offenders.
Sounds like you're an insider on these negotiations. Good for you.
Be sure to line up several providers because your next provider will go through the same BS.

If channel 3 ksn going to be back on before end of month. If not will be looking for other options
Nobody here knows when NexStar will again allow DirecTV to provide their stations. Just realize that switching to a new provider is not a cure. All of them go through this BS.

I’m a bit psssed off that you are not airing CBS. The British Open is on. Oh, not for me.
I would like my rates reduced due to not getting it.

Your CBS removed their feed to DTV. All providers have a clause that states channels and programing are subject to change at anytime. DTV may give you a credit if you call.

Ads on CBS starting that directtv has not renewed contract with them and we could loose out on the network. Is this true ?

Am I the only one who was duped by Direct TV? I was promised my local channels when I signed up and now - less than 4 months into my agreement, the CBS affiliate is not available. There was no warning or notification given, just tuned in one day and found a notice on the screen that Nexstar, the owner, has removed it from my lineup. DISH subscribers did not lose their CBC station(s).
I like the fact that Direct tucks way in the small print - all programming is subject to change at any time. I feel like I paid a fee to receive a set of services which now have been taken from me. Funny too that no one from Direct has reached out to me to offer a refund or additional services to offset this inconvenience on their part.
If that is the way DIRECT TV runs its business this is one subscriber who will terminate his subscription at the end of the period and move back to the competitors. Never had issues like this with cable.

I have had a Direct TV contract for about 7 years and now I am going to quit. I live in eastern Idaho and have not received NBS for over 7 months. I have tried to have patience but that has been stretched to the limit. My wife has been pushing for a change for months and now I agree. I tried to talk to someone working for Direct TV and/or AT&T and got no real response or help. I have now canceled my autopay but don't know how to cancel my account and return the equipment - but I will no longer pay for Direct TV !

". ATT can do anything they want to the channel lineup as per these terms of service (8. INTERRUPTIONS, LIMITATIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS TO SERVICE). You are paying for a TV service, not specific individual channels
in this case it's the locals who are the greedy ones here asking for ever more and more money every year for something most anyone can get for free with an antenna (assuming the locals are in range - check here). And then later everyone complains of their ever increasing bills when the one of the reasons for that increase is the "Broadcast TV Surcharge". So guess who's actually paying for the locals for their greed ?we the customer
How much more are you willing to pay per month?
