Channels removed from DIRECTV lineup (January 2017)

I am done with Directv!!! I pay alot of money to have your service and you pull this crap!! I am tired of you putting the consumer in the middle of your fight with the local stations without any compensation for the days that we are without local channels.  Lucky that the Patriots are playing on another channel!!!  My New Years resolution is to DUMP Directv.

Locals are free over-the-air so why are they demanding more money that would probably have to be passed onto the customer? Only the local affiliate has the broadcast rights to turn their channel on or off. We cannot force a decision between them. Please voice to the local affiliate as well, since they are the ones who went dark.

Obviously not true. There is no charge for locals to the customer, unlike many years ago when first available to pay tv providers, so there is nothing to refund. Terms of service with tv providers say channels are subject to change as a disclosure regarding they do not own the channels so have to negotiate to carry them. If an agent realy said this they are just tired of customers calling in for something the agent's have no control over. But I highly doubt it is the agent saything that hmm?

There was an article in our local newspaper today authored by a Frontier FIOS Cable subscriber.  They're in the midst of a similar dispute with Sinclair, owner of our local ABC station, KOMO.   Changing service providers won't fix this because all service providers are being held hostage by local station owners demanding more and more money.  Note the quote from the Sinclair executive VP .... "Faber said pricing for cable providers should take into account a channel’s popularity, and the costs to create programming."   Really?!?  Broadcast corporations totally skip the fact that they get access to our public airwaves for FREE, so why should they be charging companies like Frontier, DirecTV, Dish, etc anything?  It's their advertisers that pay more to advertise on the most popular shows.  Unfortunately the broadcast industry has gotten hooked on the additional revenue from service providers like DirecTV, and every year they want more and more.  Until the FCC/Congress fix this mess, it will only get worse.

please resolve this issue.  NBC is a very important National TV Station. we are losing tooooo many good programs and we especially were upset not to see our friend Arron    Rodgers play on Sunday.  So why did we switch from Dish??  Our day does not seem right without starting off with the "TODAY GANG"...they are dear frineds for over 45 years.

SO WHEN DOES THE SOLUTION COME?  SOON WE PRAY!!!

Would cost alot to go to another tv provider, but may be worth it!!

So much for a truly happy new year!

@tallman2, switching providers won't help.  They're all subject to these "hostage like" negotiations with local station owners.  Leaning on the corporation that owns your NBC station is your most effective tactic.  Ask they why providers like Dish and DirecTV should pay anything to provide a signal that they broadcast using our public airwaves for FREE.  It's our bills they're affecting.

The owner of this channel has removed it from the Directtv line- up despite our repeated requests to keep it available to you. Please visit directvpromise.com for the latest and most accurate information on this stations return.     So when is it coming back on my line up??????!!!!!!

@MaryBo, it will come back when the station ownership agrees to let DirecTV provide it to you.  At this point, DirecTV isn't willing to pay them what they're asking, so be sure to lean on the company that owns that station.

i think this is all on at&t because thay should have not bought out directv thay had great service until at&t started thinking about buying out direcTV and then 1st the weather channel then 2nd NBC WYFF 4 this is a bunch of crap thay shouldnt have bought out direcTV This Is all on at&t
