When sreaming DirecTV Now (using the DTVN Android app) on my Samsung Galaxy 8+ (SM-G955U) running Oreo (8.0.0), the "overlay" that initially appears (that has the pause symbol in the center - see picture below) no longer goes away after a few seconds. It stays on the screen permanently and obscures (dims) viewing of the program. It used to go away after a 10 seconds or so, but now, no matter what I do, it won't go away. i have tried removing and reinstalling latest version of app, restarting phone, changing numerous phone settings, etc. but nothing makes any difference. Any thoughts?

I assume it is a bug with the latest release. I would assume they would see this and work to fix it in a SOON TO BE RELEASED update!

The proposed solution doesn't work for me, but it might help some of you who are having this issue.

I saw that too but it doesn't work for me. Tapping the screen shows an option to zoom but doesn't remove the overlay.

Running same version on LG V20. I get the pause button but then just tap anywhere on the screen and it goes away.

i have T-Mobile, i would seriously doudt it has anything to do with who your service provider is. i dont get cell service at my house anyways so using dtv now at home is strictly wi-fi
