Currently my DIRECTV NOW account does not work. I keep getting the error message 50001 Dash 001. I have been waiting for help via the chat system for over an hour. This issue with being unable to view content has been an issue since zero 800 this morning and now it is almost 1200. So in essence I have been without service for four hours and counting. I have been with DIRECTV for over 10 years. I do not feel like I am being treated as a valued customer. I would like the time that I have been without service compensated via my next billing cycle. Meaning I want the hours that I’ve been without service to be deducted from my overall billing statement. I want DIRECTV now to ensure that this does not happen again. I would also like DIRECTV NOW to establish a customer service number that can assist individuals who are not savvy with the Internet or do you not want to have to wait for hours and hours on end for a chat response. I will use other avenues via Facebook and Twitter which my friends and family members have many followers to post how horrible the service has been with your company if this is not resolved in an appropriate manner. I am giving you guys an opportunity to fix your wrongs .

My live tv works perfectly but when I go under discover, it doesn't play anything. If i go to, let's say, a&e, I'll click on live pd. It says there are no episodes, it does that to every single tv show. If I go to play a movie it says, "Well, that wad unexpected. Looks like we ran into some trouble loading this content. Please try again in a bit!" Now I'm doing my free trial for the week. I refuse to pay $70/mo if none of this works! Someone, please help me!

So with Twitter posts and a bunch of other posts on this forum I can see that many people are having tons of issues with this service. And before I get into my most recent issue, I did want to say I rarely have issues, but when I do, it lasts for a few days.
I have noticed that skipping around, freezing or guide slowness is becoming less noticeable but the one issue I have makes everything unwatchable. Once something comes on that is popular like last nights TNT debut of I Am The Night, I receive a generic an error has occurred. We clear the cache, restart it and receive an Ethernet error from my Amazon Fire TV, even though every app works besides DTV Now. Removing power from the Fire does not help either, it just needs to run its case apparently.
Not that I expect it to get a resolution from this forum, but I do have questions about devices everyone uses the service on.
What are your download speeds? I have 300mbps and my bandwidth barely maxes out at 100mbps at peak times.
What streaming box do you use?
Do you see a lot of issues with it?
I am thinking about switching streaming services but no other service has all the channels I like on their service. Youtube will have Nat Geo but no History, or Hulu has a certain set and no others. I feel DTV Now is the best in offerings despite being more expensive and having some useless channels.

I use ATV 4K’s in two locations, Florida and Vermont (w/4K Samsung TV’s), extremes actually, Florida is Business class fiber gig/gig, Vermont 10/1 Mbps DSL. Being a retired old school engineer and therefore, am very, let’s say, ....assertive in the basics, QoS, static subnet IP’s, yeah all manual control of assignments, produces measurable, reliable results.
Picture Quality, Content, flexibly in mobile travel -connection to locals as one travels, access to 3rd party apps, all good points. DVR, VOD’s -not so much.

As for download speeds, I'm now on a 40 Mbps. DSL line but back when I had only 12 Mbps. service I could run two DTVN streams concurrently without problems.
It was pretty close to the edge though, start a download on a PC and I would start to get buffering.
I have a pair of ATV4Ks, a Roku 3, a Roku 4 and a 2nd gen Firestick.
The DTVN experience is best on the ATV4Ks, both because they are faster than other streamers and I can see video as I shuttle, which I can't do with the other devices.
The others are usable, though slow on things like the app starting up or channel changes.

I barely have issues with the service, last two nights though, "an error occurred", then an ethernet error message when the network is fine. This has happened twice now on two different occasions in the past month

I have 4 Fire devices. One FireTV box connected via Ethernet on my main TV and 3 4k sticks on other TV's using my WiFi. I don't have any real problems on any of them. They are all lightning fast with no waiting more than a second or two for the channels to load from Guide or Whats on Now. I think as far as buffering, I saw it maybe three times since Christmas, and eac time was only for a couple seconds. I have 200MB cable internet from Optimum.
Actually, the HD quality of picture and detail is better than what I got from cable. The only problem I've had at all with DirecTV Now is that for the first month +, I couldn't use DVR at all, but that's now taken care of and DVR has worked excellent. The problem was a glitch during the original account setup and I had to start a new account and cancel the old one to get it fixed.
