Are you ever going to get rid of the time out pain in the *** thing? I'll be in the middle of a movie, in an important scene and it times out asking if I'm still there. Then i have to wait for it to reload, and i miss the scene. Drives me nuts. I realize it's there for people who may have data caps on their ISP, but not everyone has data caps, like me. At least give us a way to disable the timeout.

At least on an ATV4K there is no "wait to reload", I just hit a button and the video resumes playing immediately.
This is with hitting a button immediately, not sure what would happen if I waited a while and it stopped the stream.
But I don't think asking you to hit a button or two every 4 hours is making too much of a demand on the viewer.
In addition to saving both DTVN and customers bandwidth, the advertisers might want some assurance that their pitch is not going simply to your dog.

Why are some shows not recording? I have plenty of space. Other shows on the same channel record and there is not time conflict with another show, but one in particular doesn't record. It used to record daily, as requested, but a couple weeks ago, it stopped. I have tried canceling the series and adding it again but to no avail. I also have random MTV shows showing up that I have not asked to be recorded. And, when will we have DVR capabilities for Chromecast!? How is that still being worked on?! It's annoying to STILL not have it this far in when almost every streaming app is compatible with Chromecast except Directv Now's DVR.

Randomly happens to me, too. Especially in the last few weeks. Just this
past Saturday the new season of Ransom started airing. I checked the DVR
recordings to be sure it was set. It was, but come Sunday it hadn’t
recorded. Now what I have seen happen is a show airs, for example, in
Canada first, it may not be tagged as “new”. NCIS New Orleans was not
recognizing as new so I had to do all. Pain in the neck as I was getting
all episodes of previous seasons for awhile until they got through
re-airing them. I wonder if it’s a problem in the header that DTVN uses to
identify a show? Try setting it to record with all episodes. I liked it in
legacy DTV where you could see recording history and it would tell you why
something didn’t record or if “someone” deleted it and didn’t ‘fess up.
As far as shows I didn’t record showing up, I’ve noticed that if the
previous show is running long, sometimes the show I’m recording will get
the previous shows name on it with the last few minutes of the previous
show tagged in to the beginning. I blamed my husband at first and I
deleted a few of those by mistake till I figured it out. 🙄
