Need Info on alias messages

Need to know how alias messages are handled. After creating an alias for a sub-account, how do I create an email message using that alias and does my sub-account or main email appear in the sent message? What happens if I send a message from my main email address to this alias? How can I read this message and where is it received? Should it appear in the Inbox of my main email account?

The links you gave me pertain specifically to Yahoo email and not the
Yahoo that supports UVERSE. Uverse uses sub-acounts
and aliases and that is what I need more information about.

I am using a subaccount that I created successfully and am using the
same password as my main account

When I try to send a test message from this subaccount to my main
account, I get an error back from
Yahoo stating that the 'from address' cannot be verified.

I suppose this would also be a problem in using the alias I created for
this subaccount.

Hi @sherwindu,

With the E-mail alias, after creating it, you can access it and use it by logging into it like you would your primary E-mail account. To my knowledge, the inbox on your primary E-mail account should house your alias E-mails, but you still need to login to your alias account if you want to send E-mails as your alias.

Here is a link that goes over the E-mail aliases a little more.

I am being told my alias name is not accepted.  What restrictions are on that?

Also, how do I sign on to the alias?   Do I create a password peculiar to that alias name?

Does my main email name appear to the recipient of sending an email from an alias?

How do I retrieve messages sent to my alias?   I do not see how to sign on with the alias.

Hi,

With the E-mail alias, the ATT E-mail follows the same principles as the Yahoo mail servers.

The restrictions follow the same as creating a normal E-mail account. The main issue most run into is that the name is already taken.

The alias will use the same password as your primary account.

When compiling an E-mail, you will have an option in your From field to select which sender you want to use.

Your alias E-mails will fall in the same inbox as your primary E-mail.

To sign in with the alias, you can just sign in with the alias name and your primary account password, but it will be no different than signing in with your primary account.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry. What errors are you receiving from Yahoo?

I still have not received an answer to my latest post concerning my question on alias id's.

Here again is the last message I sent:

Yahoo stating that the 'from address' cannot be verified.

I suppose this would also be a problem in using the alias I created for this subaccount.
