If I cancel my U-verse service, is there a way I can keep my email?

If I cancel my U-verse service, is there a way I can keep my email? I'm still new, so I'm not planning on cancelling. Still, I want to know the potential repercussions of using my Yahoo-powered AT&T email account. Thanks.

I believe you can keep your email address after you cancel since it's thru Yahoo mail servers.  I can not find any official AT&T site or documentation to back this up though.  Maybe one of the community managers will be able to better assist.

Scratch that.....I found this in the Terms of Service:

Termination or Cancellation of Service

a.  Cancellation of Service by Customer. When you purchased the Service, you agreed to a
specific price and plan, which may have included a term. You agree that if
you cancel your plan before the end of the term, you will pay the early
termination fee associated with that plan.  At the conclusion of your term
or if you did not sign up for a term plan, the term for your Service will be
month-to-month. When you cancel your service, your account ID e-mail address
will remain active, as will all e-mail subaccounts you have created. The e-mail
accounts may be accessed from the att.net website.

Thank you for the good (and complete) answer. Sounds like I will not experience any discomfort if I ever decide to quit U-verse.

For the record, by the way, I am happy with U-verse so far.
