OK, I am about to begin pulling some Cat5 cable for my TV's, DVR's, etc. I have been informed that my 3 phones will continue to use their existing wiring. And that is what I really wanted to hear ........ no extra cables to pull. However, I did want to make certain this was absolutely true. So, am I correct in not having to pull new wire for the existing PHONES? The exist...

When I built my home thirty years ago I had one two-pair cable for phone service. This cable was daisy-chained from one end of the house to the other with six drops {jacks}. Today I installed my new U-verse service at approximately the middle of the string of jacks, and the only phone that works is what I plug directly into my router port. If I take all the jacks off and ...

Before we got U-Verse, we had "Privacy Manager" for our phones. "Privacy Manager is a call screening service that works with Caller ID to identify all incoming calls that have no telephone numbers provided and which are identified as Anonymous, Unavailable, Out-of-Area, or Private". This was wonderful and much better than what we have now. People who called could press 2 ...

Why does AT&T hire deceitful salesman who avoid the truth when trying to sell a product of theirs. I was not informed by the person who offered me 30$ savings on my phone bill if I changed to Uverse voice with my internet the some of the services I currently had would not be available, and that it would not be compatible with the security system I currently had. Not only ...

I keep getting calls from a certain telemarketer. They claim to be from Publisher's Clearing House and I can claim my prize by paying $800 to get it - like I would believe that line. Anyway, I have nomorobo, but the caller ID changes every time they call. Most of the calls show a caller ID of "Kingston JM" with the 876 area code of Jamacia. Sometimes the caller ID just sa...

My voicemailbox on my Panasonic home phone shows voicemail full. I have used my phone to access the Uverse mailbox, and it says I have no messages. I went online and checked my Uverse voice mailbox, and it displays no messages. How do I empty the "full" voicemail box?

how does one replace a dead phone jack and make it live? Or is that even possible without having special tools and codes? Are we led to believe self install really isn't self install? between AT&T and Comcast its no difference in choice like choosing republican or democrat you get screwed either way.

Just had a problem with U-verse voice. Landline phone had no dial tone, phone LED was lit solid green as it was supposed to be, and we could not call out. Before checking self help troubleshooting steps I called the home phone using my cell phone. Home phone rang and I answered. Connection was OK. Disconnected from cell phone and U-verse landline. After that we got our la...
