Volume controlling AUX?

I've tried the recommended action to change default routing of VOL from TV to AUX:

Hold AUX whle pressing OK (top puttons flash)

AUX (flashes after pressing)

ENTER

but, nothing changes.  When I press VOL, TV still lights up, not AUX.

????
