UVerse Remote: Soundbar Input Select

Hello,

Aplogies in advance if this questions has been asked/answered... I have Sony TV and a mulit-input Sony Soundbar. I would like the Uverse remove (S-20) to change inputs on the soundbar to switch between my Uverse and Apple TV. Currently, I have the paired to the tv to turn on/off and change TV inputs and the remote paired to the soundbar to controls the soundbar volume. Ideally, the Uverse remote would turn the TV and soundbar on/off, control sound of soundbar, and change soundbar inputs. I'll leave it to you guys to tell me if its feasible and how to set that up!

Thanks!

Hey, @Cuztomer100!

Thanks for reaching out! We'd be glad to help you program your remote.

It is feasible to program your remote to operate your TV and soundbar. You can find out how to do this by reading this S-20 remote programming page.

Let us know if this helps!

As mentioned in the post, I have both already programmed. I specifically need help with the controls that I mentioned above:

"The Uverse remote would turn the TV and soundbar on/off, control sound of soundbar, and change soundbar inputs"

I did not see guidance in the attached remote pdf.

Thank you,

I did not see guidance in the attached remote pdf.

In that pdf if the "Optional Advanced Features" for controlling the instructions for volume and power claim (never tried it myself) to be able program the remote to control volume and power on the tv plus two additional devices which they are referring to as "audio" and "stb" but I think those are just labeling and can be whatever devices you associate with those buttons for programming purposes.  BUT...

What's not totally clear is programming the remote with the device's programming codes.  The instructions only show that it can be programmed for the tv and "audio" device.  That being the case I am not sure why the "Optional Advanced Features" also include "stb" as an additional device.   Can't refer to the att uverse "STB" since the remotes always know those.

I guess all you can do is play around (programming the "audio device" with it and see what happens.

Note, oddly the S20/S30 pdf does not include instructions to factory reset the remote (S10 does) even though there's a reference about it (who proof reads these things?).  So if you do start "playing around" you can always factory reset if necessary by following the instructions described here (assuming those actually work).
