MOVING CABLE BOXES

I recently downgraded to basic plan as me and the wife stream our shows now. The living room TV is a smart tv, but the wifi is absolute crap on it so we kept it as a wired connection. The main box is in the bedroom with the secondary box in the living room. Since we are on basic now, the second box (living room) has to be returned. There is no wall ethernet outlets, so i thought about moving the box from the bedroom out there and leaving the (modem? router?) in the bedroom as it can't really move. I can't seem to get them to work though, what should I do?

Your main box should be the DVR, which has a wired Ethernet connection to your gateway. To move it to another room, you'd have to maintain that Ethernet connection, running an Ethernet cable from the gateway to the DVR. Is this what you're trying to do? If you can't do this easily, you can consider paying At&t $149 to relocate your gateway and DVR to the desired area.
